dc.description.abstractThe conference focused on two main objectives: Looking back on the lessons learned, experiences shared, results, and achievements from actions undertaken by national, regional, and international communities following the accident; and Identifying ways for further strengthening nuclear safety as part of the answer to maximizing the beneficial peaceful use of nuclear energy. The conference gathered internationally recognized high level safety experts and other stakeholders to discuss initiatives taken in the aftermath of the accident, and initiatives for further strengthening nuclear safety, together with other aspects relevant to achieving the overall goal of helping to address the climate change crisis. Vital to this goal was the development of a conference President’s action plan based on the conference.en_US
