| Description: | Maintenance is a work that is carried out to preserve an asset in order to enable its continued use and function, above a minimum acceptable level of performance, over its design service life, without unforeseen renewal or major repair activities. The presentation talked about the types, organization and administration, maintenance facilities and equipments, procedures, records and histories of the program, conducts and lastly outage maintenance Effective maintenance as well as surveillance and in-service inspection are essential for the safe operation of a nuclear power plant. They ensure not only that the levels of reliability and availability of all plant structures, systems and components (SSCs) that have a bearing on safety remain in accordance with the assumptions and intent of the design, but also that the safety of the plant is not adversely affected after the recommencement of operation. |
