Description: Safety is the state of being "safe", the condition of being protected from harm or other non-desirable outcomes. Safety can also refer to the control of recognized hazards in order to achieve an acceptable level of risk. The organization and management of plant operations ensures that a high level of safety is achieved through the effective management and control of operational activities. The operating organization shall establish and implement a program to manage radioactive waste safely including collection, segregation, treatment, conditioning, on-site transport and storage, etc . Operating experience is a valuable source of information for learning about and improving the safety and reliability of nuclear installations. Feedback of experience also increases knowledge of the operating characteristics of equipment and performance trends, and provides data for quantitative and qualitative safety analysis. Qualification and Training, Operating Instructions and Procedures, Corrective Action, Tracking of Actions, Trending and Review of Events, Utilization of Information and Dissemination and Exchange of Information were also discussed. In a nut shell, all practical efforts must be made to prevent and mitigate nuclear or radiation accidents in order to maintain safety in an organization.
