Abstract: STAKEHOLDERSMANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE FOR NATIONAL NUCLEAR POWER PROGRAMME Stakeholder is the act of a person or a group of people or an organization with interest, involvement or investment in the activities concerned. They may also be called interested/concerned parties. Or any actor institution, group or individual with an interest in or a role to play in the societal decision making process. This is presentation was motivated as a result of public perception and acceptability of nuclear technologies, including other factors to be considered. The activeness of stakeholders in enlightening the general public about nuclear power plants that is properly educating the public. Due to the negative perspective people believe about nuclear power plant, it’s the responsibilities of the stakeholders to carry out awareness programmes in such rural communities. (NAEC) Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, (NNRA) Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority are identified government agencies on nuclear management in Nigeria, combined with the international bodies’ standards such as the (IAEA) International Atomic Energy Agency. In order to ensure effective nuclear safety standards and to create support for developing countries worldwide. Project developers is classified among the stakeholder groups, they stands as the owners of the sites/facilities and equipment investors, operational staff management. Regulators, performs the function of supervisory authorities, industry bodies local governments. Cooperators, are in charge of trade union, responsible for proper waste management, local entrepreneurs, local contractors, nuclear and non-nuclear industry, and non-governmental organization (NGO) different ministries. Then we have the indirect influencers; these are the members of the stakeholders who are not directly involved in the construction and operation of the concerned actives will fall into this category. The general public, neighboring countries, indigenous people, landowners etc. Stakeholders must continuously create more awareness by engaging the internal and external stakeholders. BY Usman ismaila
